Tyrone Turquoise (New Mexico) Matching Earring Slab Bead Pair 13x26mm
The Tyrone Turquoise Mine refers to a historic Turquoise and Copper deposit located in the Burro Mountains, about 10 miles southwest of Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico. Turquoise mining at Tyrone officially ended in the early 1980s when copper extraction methods switched to crushing and acid-wash processing, which destroyed any remaining turquoise in the ore. Because of this, genuine Tyrone turquoise is rare, collectible, and no longer newly mined.
