The Carico Lake mine is a historic Nevada Turquoise mine in Lander County, named for the dried-up lake bed where it sits. The mine is famous for producing diverse colors of turquoise, including apple-green faustite (a zinc-rich turquoise cousin), blue-green stones, and rare fossilized clam pseudo-morphs.
