Fordite, also known as Motor City Agate or Detroit Agate, is a man-made material formed from hardened layerrs of automotive paint overspray. It's essentially the "slag" left behind in old-style automotive factories when cars were hand-painted and the paint was cured in ovens. This overspray built up on fixtures and floors over time, creating colorful, layered chunks that can be cut and polished into unique decorative pieces.
